MyPlace Self Storage - Fort Mill

0/10 would recommend this facility. Do not rent a space from here. We had more than $3,000 of equipment, tools, and personal items stolen from here in January of 2026. Calling customer service left us with an automated message and we could not speak to a real person. (This was on a Monday afternoon during “regular” business hours.) We have left several messages with no reply. We have used the “live chat” function on their website but it does not connect to a human, and I again spoke to an automated service. We will be moving our items as soon as the case with York County Sheriff’s office is closed.

Very proactive even in the initial booking process, returned my calls when I was having some difficulty completing E sign documents. The unit was clean, easy to access and reasonably priced .overall good service I would say

Do NOT use My place self storage. They had us down under a different unit #. For 14 months we had paid for our unit, until one day we went and eve thing was gone. I can get over all the furniture & exoesive items, it’s the last 30 years of Christmas decoration that were hand made by child, & my great grandma & decades of photo albums. I’m so sad & I can’t get anyone from self storage to help me. I just want to know what happened. Maybe I can still get my priceless items back, if they sold unit as abandoned (only it wasn’t, they had the wrong unit #) I have gone down rabbit holes looking for any of our items for sale on every place I can. I am going to make a police report next since no one will even call us back. Maybe channel nine news, civil attorney. I just want to know, maybe whoever bought it, still has my personal, priceless items. That all I care about at this point. I don’t want to this happen to anyone else.

Edit: they finally took care of my issues but they do make it difficult to cancel your unit. It would get 4 stars but they keep raising the prices significantly. 2 price raises in less than 2 years.

I wish I had of picked a storage company where I can easily contact the managers. I have a unit and have been trying for weeks to get in contact with someone to help me, yet nothing. I have not received any call backs. This is very unprofessional and ridiculous. I will be moving my things to another satisfying company!
