Modern Storage Lowell

Modern storage has been amazing, very helpful with getting set up and getting access to my unit. They have gated entry and provided a lock to ensure high security for the units. I have had a great experience! I was absent minded and lost the keys to my unit, but the staff is super friendly and Hunter worked with me to get a new lock with no hassle. I highly recommend coming here as they are friendly and provide quick efficient service.

Modern Storage Lowell is great. Their facility is clean and their staff is very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend for your storage needs!

Update - owner has apologized, and offered a number to reach after hours in future emergency situations. But given the trouble we went through, the risks we had to take to keep our move in date, and the out of pocket costs for a personal dolly we don’t need, an apology does not make up for the situation. In a world of corporations and numbers, I believe substantial inconvenience and out of pocket expenses should be met with additional offerings of some sort to compensate a very poor experience. Helping with the future does not erase the past. As someone who has worked in customer service for about 10 years, I would not have stopped at an apology. My review stands. Disclaimer - the place was recently bought by Modern Storage and I’m sure they are working out kinks during the transition. HOWEVER, I do not take this as an excuse for the issues we experienced during move in this weekend. Booked online in advance, had a follow up call with management to go over important info. All set for a Saturday key pickup, and a Sunday move in. Saturday comes and we find that there’s a gate just to get in to enter the office, unlike most places where security is past the office. We have to call a number to get in because our code won’t be active til Sunday. We follow the kid to go see the unit, but before leaving inquire where the carts are. He says they don’t have any *yet. Mind you, we’ve rented at multiple units and even with this company, and any internal climate controlled unit has always come with cart access. Our expectations of a 5-star location from the same company we’ve been with before, there would certainly be better communication up front about entrance expectations and carts available for move in. I asked the employee questions trying to get to a solution, and he was very nice but was not at all resourceful in helping. We tried to see if a partner location could bring a cart, if he could contact his manger (who wasn’t onsite), if there were any options and he came up empty. No solutions, just that the code will be active for the planned move in date Sunday that we can’t afford to push forward. We show, our code does not work. We try everything, we find the move in email that confirms we have the right code. No one answers the phone, no one is there. We have a packed U-Haul. We’re desperate, so we have to follow someone else in that we explained the situation to, but we also had to rush to be able to follow them back out because you need a code to exit too. We had to buy our own furniture Dolly’s which were much more troublesome than typical storage unit carts considering they’re not flat and don’t handle door threshold ramps well, and hold way less. But we managed to get everything in and out of the facility. But the trouble we went through, the risk we took of getting stuck, the money we spent out of pocket for something that every other storage facility has onsite per expectation…the only stars come from storage facility cleanliness and staff friendliness. But this was not a good first impression for the new company acquisition.

The nicest, cleanest, most high end storage facility ever. Carrie and Lester work hard to keep this location PRISTINE. I've been storing my coach here for over 3 years and wouldn't think of keeping it anywhere else. Climate control unit with garage door opener. Fantastic experience- thank you!

Lots of units here. The owner met me on site and was very personable. We ended up needing 3 units. The day-to-day person is Carrie and she’s really on top of stuff. Super clean facility. I’ll be recommending to anyone I know needing storage.
